Variation among pollen specific isozymes in barley

Abstract: Eight barley cultivars (Horderrm vulgare L. ssp. vulgare) and wild barley ( H . vulgare L. ssp. spontaneum) from 2 I different geographical locations were tested for variants in pollen specific isozymes. Variants were tound in pcillen specific acid phosphatase (ACP). aminopeptrdase (AMP), and esterase (EST), whereas no variation could be detected in pollen specific peroxidases (APX) or in a putative pollen specific modification of malate dehydrogenase (MDH-2).
