Validation of automated apparatus for upper limb velocity testing

Abstract: The purpose of this paper was to validate the ability of automated devices to measure the velocity of the upper limbs. Thus, 144 students, from 8 to 17 years old, both sexes, participated in the study in a social project in the city of Natal/RN. The Automated Tapping Test (AATT) was developed following the dimensions of the original EUROFIT test, but built out of metal parts, so that the calibration was more accurate and could be read as an electronic signal by the integrated circuit. The upper limb velocity t… Show more

“…The high volume can generate a cardiovascular imbalance due to changes in plasma volume, cardiac output and stroke volume. In addition, a high volume of training, as in CrossFit® sessions, promotes greater recruitment of motor units, which requires greater activity of the sympathetic nervous system and greater activation of metaboreceptors, mechanoreceptors and baroreflexors induced by the mechanical occlusion of blood flow (Dantas et al, 2018).…”

“…In addition, the authors identified a moderate association (r = 0.464; r 2 = 0.21) between the maturation stages. However, the test can be stratified into three distinct phases of performance (adaptation to movement, phase of better performance, and process of loss of performance [18]). Our data indicate that since the adaptation phase, the accelerated stage can print a movement speed similar to the optimized phase and superior to the regular and delayed stages.…”
