Abstract: Objective: Long-term treatment with carbamazepine (CBZ) and valproic acid (VPA) is associated with many metabolic changes that influence the serum levels of cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein (HDL), low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and triglycerides and the body mass index (BMI).
