Overnight, as a result of the COVID‐19 pandemic, telehealth rapidly transitioned from limited application to widespread implementation. The field of genetic counseling was well positioned to make this transition to virtual care since there is generally less of a need for patients to be seen in‐person for physical exams or urgent care. Going forward, virtual visits will presumably become a mainstay in the provision of genetic services and it is anticipated that clinics will adopt “hybrid” models with both in‐person and virtual visit options. This commentary highlights the successes and challenges in the rapid implementation of virtual visits, focusing on who has benefited versus who has been challenged or left behind. We also discuss genetic testing considerations, including the additional steps required for patients and clinicians when testing is ordered outside of the clinical setting, which can result in delays or a lack of testing altogether. Future research considerations are presented to address the needs among the most vulnerable and help ensure equitable access and benefit.

Moe-Phobia: Effect of Users' Gender on Perceived Sexuality and Likability Toward Manga-Like Virtual Agents

In Japan, many incidents regarding manga-like virtual agents have happened recently, in which critics have indicated that virtual agents used in public spaces are too sexual. Prior study defined this perception as “moe-phobia.” In many cases, critics have pointed to agents' clothes. However, after verifying actual moe-phobia incidents, I hypothesize that these incidents are associated with not only the agents' clothes but also the situations in which they are used. I conducted an experiment with three factors and two levels to verify this hypothesis. The independent values were the agents' clothes, usage scenario, and the gender of the participants. The dependent values were the agents' trustworthiness, familiarity, likability, sexuality, and suitability as perceived by humans. I conducted the experiment with female and male groups and conducted a three-way ANOVA for each dependent value for each group. As a result, I observed a different tendency regarding the impression of the agents between female and male groups; however, both groups had the same tendency regarding the perceived suitability. The female and male participants judged the agents' suitability from not only their clothes but also the scenario.

Research on Acoustic Absorption Properties of Aramid Honeycomb Composite Material Reinforced by Polyimide Foam

To endue sound absorption behavior for aramid honeycomb core (ARHC), isocyanate-based polyimide foam (IBPIF) with excellent thermal insulation and acoustic properties produced by a new formulation of foaming slurry is filled into ARHC by the free foaming route. As a core factor to adjust the cellular structure of IBPIF, the effect of water dosage on the acoustic behavior of IBPIF and IBPIF filled ARHC (IBPIF/ARHC) is studied, and the optimal formula to produce IBPIF/ARHC is filtered out. Results suggest that water dosage effectively regulates the cellular structure of IBPIF. When water dosage is 7.2 g, IBPIF has a large windows opening rate, which plays a positive role in sound absorption performance. IBPIF/ARHC-3 has the best sound absorption property, which possesses a maximum sound absorption coefficient (α) of 0.9 at 1500 Hz. Its average α increases to 0.78 and shows an increase of 680% compared to ARHC. Meanwhile, the density of IBPIF/ARHC is only about 59 kg m À3 . In 300-600 Hz range, IBPIF-3 and ARHC show obvious synergy effects in sound absorption behavior. The average α of IBPIF-3 and ARHC is only 0.3 and 0.06, respectively, and that of IBPIF/ARHC-3 reaches up to 0.42. The thermal insulation performance of ARHC is also improved, and thermal conductivity decreases from 0.067 to 0.047-0.049 W (m K) À1 .
