The objective of the research was to analyze the functions of open government and its relationship with management in local municipalities in Peru. For this purpose, a survey was conducted in the Amazon region with the participation of 77 provincial and district municipalities. The data collected from the survey were processed in SPSS and Smart PLS. It was found that the implementation of open government is at a medium level with 76%, as well as the management in the municipalities with 61%. It is concluded that open government and public management are intrinsically related since open government promotes transparency, citizen participation, and collaboration in public affairs, which is fundamental for an efficient, responsible, and service-oriented management of public affairs.
