User Interface Distribution Method Based on Pi-Calculus

Abstract: The rapid growth of computing devices has led to the emergence of distributed user interfaces. A user interface is called distributed if a user can interact with it using several devices at the same time. Formal methods for designing such interfaces, in particular methods for the distribution of interface elements across multiple devices, are yet to be developed. This is the reason why every time a new application requires a distributed user interface, the latter has to be designed from scratch, rendering the … Show more

“…In theoretical computer science, Pi calculus is a formal language for describing and analyzing concurrent systems [19] [20], which uses the reduction in calculus to represent the dynamic evolution of inter-process communication [21]. Moreover, in Pi calculus, the channels can be passed as data in other channels between processes, which makes the expression of Pi calculus to be very powerful [22]. Thus, Pi calculus is utilized for describing the communication mechanism and data processing logic of the decentralized grid model in this part, so that facilitating rigorous mathematical verification.…”

“…When there are huge message flows exchanged by broker, issue of latency may be inevitable [16]. e latency not only decreases the speed of data transmission but also wastes device battery to decrease the overall device life-span [17][18][19][20]. In this paper, we focus on data exchange efficiency in an environment where there is a limited Internet access or there are serious network jitter problems for several hundred miles around.…”
