User Acceptance of Smart Watch for Medical Purposes: An Empirical Study

Abstract: This study aims to investigate the most effective and interesting variables that urge use of the smartwatch (SW) in a medical environment. To achieve this aim, the study was framed using an innovative and integrated research model, which is based on combining constructs from a well-established theoretical model’s TAM and other features that are critical to the effectiveness of SW which are content richness and personal innovativeness. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is used to detect the determinants aff… Show more

“…In short, studies on online learning platforms have relied mostly on the TAM [22], flow theory (FB) and the unified theory on acceptance and use of technology model (UTAUT) to explore the effectiveness of e-learning platforms before and after the pandemic [23,24]. No known study has explored through a conceptual model the intention to use online learning platforms when face-to-face classes are resumed.…”

“…The same is also applicable in personal innovativeness, whereby this factor is proved to heighten the level of confidence towards a user’s ability. [ 42 ] also posit that the higher the level of innovativeness in a person, the higher they are likely to have a high technology perception. In addition to this is [ 6 , 42 , 44 ] findings which, alongside the TAM theory, prove that PU and PEU are directly linked to personal innovativeness.…”

“…A study on personal innovativeness by [ 42 ] shows a direct relationship with a user’s readiness in using technological inventions once they are available. Further, personal innovativeness is connected to an individual’s perception of technology and confidence whereby a higher level of personal innovativeness, translates to higher levels of confidence in an individual’s actions.…”
