Use of the Brazelton neonatal assessment scale to educate parents of high-risk infants

Abstract: This article describes how the Brazelton Neonatal Assessment Scale might be used to assist parents in recognizing their infant's cues and capabilities. Infants to whom the scale as administered were high‐risk babies requiring care in an intensivecare unit. The scale can be a useful component of an educational program for parents of newborns.
