Use of electrochemically activated aqueous solutions in the manufacture of fur materials

Abstract: The influence of characteristics of electrochemically activated aqueous processing mediums in the treatment of fur skins with different contents of fatty substances was investigated. The use of electroactive water, namely anolytes and catholytes, forgoing antiseptics or surface-active materials, helped to restore the hydration of fur skins and to remove from them soluble proteins, carbohydrates and fatty substances. The activating effect of anolyte and catholyte in solutions of water on the processes of treati… Show more

“…The object of the study is the process of optimizing the filling and hydrophobizing alkenmaleinacrylsynthane (AM-AS) composition for the formation of high water resistance nutria velour. Raw materials of male nutria skins with coarse auburn hair of 24-25 dm 2 have been used after removing awn hair by epilation and chrome-aluminum finishing of a semi-finished product by technology [12] with obtaining temperature of hydrothermal stability (Г с ) of skin tissue 90 С. The studied composition AM-AC included alkenmaline (AM) polymer synthesized on the basis of α-alkenes С 20-24 and maleic anhydride with a mean molecular weight of 38•10 3 , polyacrylic (PA) emulsion Melio Resin A-821 (Clariant, Germany) and the product of the synthesis of 2-naphtholesulfonic acid with dioxidiphenylsulphon (cyanant HC-DS).…”

“…Hydrothermal resistance of velour -at the initial reduction of the sample length when heated at a speed of 2.5-3.0 C/min, porosity -the ratio of pore volumes and the original sample, physical and mechanical properties -using the bursting strength machine RT-250M, belt A (Russia) at a deformation rate of 80 mm / min according to the methods [13]. The yield of the velour area has been assessed by the ratio of the areas of hydrophobized and mined semi-finished product [12] under standard conditions.…”

“…Based on the previous set of scientific and technological researches a number of optimized technologies of chrome method of tanning of the dermis collagen with obtaining a semi-finished leather product Wet-blue [29] and using compounds of synthetic nature and vegetable tannins was developed. The effectiveness of the developed technologies is testified by the results of their comparison with the previously existing industrial technologies at JSC "Chinbar" chrome [30] and chromesynthetic (CST) tanning [31].…”

“…30,31 Experimentally, the use of both catholyte and anolyte in the processing of raw fur materials was reported previously. 32 The anolyte was effectively used in the process of restoring the collagen structure of the raw material and releasing inter-fiber proteins, polysaccharides and partially lipids. 32 Owing to anolyte bactericidal properties it was possible to carry out the process without adding antiseptic substances.…”

At the second stage of soaking and degreasing the raw biomaterial, catholyte was used to remove the remaining lipids.…”
