and Biomedical Sciences (IVABS), is conducting a survey of veterinary practices throughout New Zealand to establish the types of animal poisonings veterinarians have treated or given advice on. One purpose of the survey is to establish the prime causes of animal poisonings within New Zealand and how these findings compare with other countries. Ultimately the results of this research will be used to determine if there is interest and support within New Zealand and potentially our Australasian neighbours to develop and operate a veterinary poison centre possibly in partnership with the National Poisons Centre in Dunedin. A report will be published on the findings of the survey. Please take due care in filling out the information. Your efforts to provide accurate information is valuable to this survey. If your practice has a practice management system that records poisoning perhaps one person in the practice could answer the survey questions. We welcome everyone's participation and support but would like to avoid duplication of poisonings within a practice.
