Groom (1955 and found no advantage in feeding stilboestrol to lambs at levels of from 0-1 to 2-0 mg. per head per day, whereas Light et al (1956) found that feeding 2-0 mg. per head per day produced increased gains. The same authors later reported an increase of 22% in rate of gain and little effect on the carcass from feeding 2-0 mg. per head per day (Hale et al, 1955).…”
