Abstract: Introduction:In 2020, Kenya had 19,000 new HIV infections among women aged 15+ years. Studies have shown sub-optimal oral pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) use among sub-populations of women. “…[14][15][16] In a retrospective cohort of PrEP users at 2 health facilities in Kisumu County, Kenya, oral PrEP continuation among adolescent girls and young women aged 15 to 24 years declined with increasing duration of follow-up, from 28% at month 1 to 13% by month 6. 17 To determine the unmet need and opportunity to expand use in this priority population, we assessed awareness, prior use, and willingness to take PrEP among adolescents participating in Maneno Yetu ("Our Words"), a community-based sexual and reproductive health study in Kisumu, Kenya.…”

“…In the MTN‐034 Reversing the Epidemic in Africa with Choices in HIV Prevention (REACH) trial, AGYW in SSA used both oral PrEP and the ring and were provided with counselling, drug‐level feedback (DLF) and the option to choose from a menu of additional strategies to facilitate effective product use. REACH participants had higher adherence to both products than AGYW in prior studies and demonstration projects [9–13, 15, 27–31]. Thus, this paper aims to describe the adherence support programme and investigate how it supported oral PrEP and ring use among study participants.…”
