“…These reasons have encouraged scientists to search on cheaper source for activated carbon. The massive amount of agricultural by-product such as Theobroma cacao [13], rise straw [7], date stones/pits [14] , palm fibers [15], orange peel [16], pomegranate peels [3], and Peanut hull [17] make them one [18] of the critical starting material for activated carbon (AC) production. Activated carbon could be produced theoretically from any carbonaceous material with a considerable amount of elemental carbon [19] [5] Bagasse could be considered one of the most significant agricultural waste products as it has produced annually in large quantities [15].…”

“…In pure ILs, the skeleton stretching vibration of the imidazolium ring can be assigned by two peaks at 1580 and 1470 cm -1 , which provide clear evidence for the successfully prepared products (S-1 to S-4) [21]. The total incorporation of ILs with alkyl groups and the formation of new functional groups The change in intensity of sample S-1 between 2800 and 3000 cm -1 indicated the presence of several alkyl groups [22]. The conjugated strong peaks at 1580 and 1633 cm -1 were caused by the imidazolium ring's symmetric C=N and symmetric -C=C-bonds, respectively, indicating the presence of imidazolium cations [15].…”

“…It is worth noticing that this peak disappeared in the TPZ sample, which indicates significant lignin and/or hemicellulose removal. The peak at 2349 cm −1 that appeared in all samples is related to the -OH stretching vibration mode of the hydroxyl functional groups [40,41]. Taking this into account, these bands are more intense for the samples treated by ZnCl 2 alone, indicating the introduction of more oxygen-functional groups in TPZ and CZ.…”
