Updated angiosperm family tree for analyzing phylogenetic diversity and community structure

Abstract: Th e computation of phylogenetic diversity and phylogenetic community structure demands an accurately calibrated, high-resolution phylogeny, which refl ects current knowledge regarding diversifi cation within the group of interest. Herein we present the angiosperm phylogeny R20160415.new, which is based on the topology proposed by the Angiosperm Phylogeny Group IV, a recently released compilation of angiosperm diversifi cation. R20160415.new is calibratable by diff erent sets of recently published estimates of… Show more

“…(2017) 209(40), which is based on the topology proposed by the Angiosperm Phylogeny 210 Group IV. We concatenated the two chloroplast markers following a General211 Time Reversible (GTR) + Gamma (G) model of sequence evolution.…”

“…All species found in this survey were inserted into the phylogenetic tree R20160415.new (Gastauer and Meira-Neto 2017) using the phylomatic function embedded in the Phylocom-4.2 package (Webb and Donoghue 2005). The resulting topology was calibrated using age estimates from Bell et al (2010).…”

“…We produced a phylogenetic tree with all woody angiosperms recorded in the basin using Phylomatic function in Phylocom 4.2 (Webb & Donoghue 2005) and megatree R20160415.new (Gastauer & Meira-Neto 2017) based on APG IV (The Angiosperm Phylogeny Group 2016). Ferns and gymnosperms were omitted because of their outcome on the phylogenetic metrics they are very distinct and old phylogenetic lineages.…”
