Up-regulation of circ_LARP4 suppresses cell proliferation and migration in ovarian cancer by regulating miR-513b-5p/LARP4 axis

Abstract: Background: Ovarian cancer (OC) is a common fatal malignant tumor of female reproductive system worldwide. Growing studies have proofed that circular RNAs (circRNAs) engage in the regulation of various types of cancers. However, the underlying biological functions and effect mechanism of circular RNA_LARP4 (circ_LARP4) in OC have not been explored. Methods: Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) analysis was used to detect the expression of circ_LARP4 in OC cells. The function of circ_LARP4… Show more

“…Additionally, Lin et al discovered that circRNA expression was significantly decreased in OvCa cell lines compared with the normal group. Additionally, circLARP4 could upregulate its host gene LARP4 posttranscriptionally by sponging miR-513b-5p, thereby inhibiting cell proliferation and migration [81]. Overall, circLARP4 suppressed the development of OvCa via the miR-513b-5p/LARP4 axis, providing a promising therapeutic target for OvCa treatment.…”

“…Some circRNAs exert their tumor-suppressive roles in OC cells [141][142][143][144][145][146][147][148][149][150] (Table 2 and Figure 4). According to these reports, the "miRNA" sponge seems to be the most common mechanism by which circRNAs regulate the malignant properties of OC cells.…”

“…Li et al proved that circRNA CDR1as was an oncogenic factor in nonsmall-cell lung cancer [ 6 ], and Lin and Cai claimed that circ-EGLN3 enhanced the proliferation and aggressiveness of renal cell carcinoma cells [ 7 ]. Circ_LARP4 was shown to inhibit ovarian cancer cell proliferation and migration [ 8 ], and the anticancer role of circMTO1 was demonstrated in rectal cancer [ 9 ]. Many dysregulated circRNAs have been found in GC tissues [ 10 ], including the downregulated circKIAA0907 (has_circ_0005758) [ 11 ].…”
