Untersuchungen über Getreideschleimstoffe. I. Chromatographische Fraktionierung von wasserlöslichen Weizenmehlpentosanen an Diäthylaminoäthyl‐Cellulose

Abstract: Volumen XLIV, Fasciculus 111 (1961) -No. 93-94 823 SUMMARY 1. The rates of the following nucleophilic substitution reactions have been measured in benzene solution : (1) cyanuric chloride and aniline ; (2) 2-anilino-3,5-dichloro-triazine and aniline ; (3) l-N-methylanilino-3,5-dichloro-triazine and N-methylaniline.2. Reaction (1) ist autocatalysed; it is first order with respect to cyanuric chloride and approximatively first order with respect to aniline (weak base catalysis by aniline).3. Reaction (2) is als… Show more

“…The polysaccharides in water extracts of Insignia wheat flour prepared by the modified methods of Kundig et al (1961) (preparation A) and Preece and MacDougall (1958) (preparation B) have similar monosaccharide compositions (Table 2) and molecular size distributions (Fig. 1).…”

“…The demonstration of the presence of free protein in preparation A suggests that some of the protein eluted by the stepwise increase of sodium borate concentration from the DEAE-cellulose column of Kundig et al (1961), and designated glycoprotein by these workers, is also free protein.…”

“…The galactose determination was corrected for the presence of the previously determined amounts of glucose and rhamnose; the mannose determination was corrected for the presence of the previously determined amounts of glucose, galactose and rhamnose, Anion exchange chromatography. Column chromatography of formamide extracts was carried out on DEAE-cellulose (Serva, Heidelberg), as described by Kundig, Neukom & Deuel (1961) for cereals. The column was eluted with the following solutions: distilled water, phosphate buffer pH 7, 0.0175 M (PB), PB+O-1 M-NaCl, PB +0.25 M-NaCl, 0.1 N-NaOH.…”
