Show more

“…However, there is a peak for the (α+γ) forms at 522 cm -1 and a weak peak for the α-form at 833 cm -1 . On the other hand, the PA-6/clay (5 wt%) IR spectrum shows characteristic peaks for the γ-form at 630 cm -1 and 777 cm -1 (28,(30)(31)(32)(33) and also for the (γ+mesomorphous) forms at 917 c m -1 (Rotter et al, 1992;Illers et al, 1972;Pierron et al, 2001). …”

“…Among them is the fact that nylon-6 is polymorphic and general agreement about the crystalline and/or paracrystalline forms present and their detection has been slow to develop. [4][5][6] In fact, there is still no generally accepted view of the literature on this subject.697 Furthermore, the nature and properties of nylon-6 filaments and fibers is sensitive to environmental factors such as the presence of moisture (humidity). 8 Recently, two investigations of structure formation during fiber formation from nylon-6 have appeared.…”

“…[13] The second c-crystalline form appears after a special treatment of the a-crystalline form in an iodine solution. [15,16] It has hydrogen bridges between the parallel chains and hexagonal, [17] monoclinic, [14] or even orthorhombic [15] form.…”
