Unprecedented Strength Polysiloxane-Based Polyurethane for 3D Printing and Shape Memory

Abstract: Thermoplastic polysiloxane-based polyurethane (Si-TPU) has been attracting a great deal of attention because of the dual advantages of polysiloxane and polyurethane. “…In this work, hydroxyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS; HO–PDMS–OH) was selected to synthesize polysiloxane-based polyurethanes because amino-terminated PDMS (H 2 N–PDMS–NH 2 ) reacts violently with isocyanate groups.
