Unprecedented Nonflammable Organic Adhesives Leading to Fireproof Wood Products

Abstract: We report an excellent water-based inflammable organic wood adhesive that is able to protect wood products from burning by generating inflammable gases, a porous thick char layer, and radicals that consume the oxygen and hydrogen radicals required in the burning process. The organic adhesive is obtained by the formation of hard supramolecular phases composed of high-density flame-retardant N and P elements through hydrogen bonding and acid–base interaction between the phytic acid and branched polyethylenimine … Show more

“…MOFs have proved to be a more ideal carrier for enzyme immobilization because of their ultra-high porosity and surface area. 94 Gao et al 95 developed a pH meter-assisted biosensor based on GOx coupled magnetic zeolite imidazolate framework-8 (mZIF-8) for field assessment of bacterial contamination. As shown in Fig.…”

“…Most of these small molecules contain flame-retardant elements with abundant active sites. Shuitao Gao [ 76 ] used PA and branched polyethylenimide (b-PEI) as the basic units. A 3D network was assembled through hydrogen bonding and electrostatic interaction between the phosphonic acid group of PA and the amino and imino groups of b-PEI ( Figure 8 a).…”

“…4 Consequently, monitoring the localized pH of the bacterial microenvironment is vital for comprehending bacterial adaptation and behavior in the presence of chemical or mechanical stimuli. 5,6 The developments of localized pH measurement are prosperous, 7 with notable sensors based on nanomaterials, 8 fluorescent pH indicators, 9 and microfabricated electrodes 10 being proposed to improve sensitivity, precision, and real-time monitoring capabilities. However, these pH sensors have their limitations.…”
