Unknown primary tumors metastatic to liver.

Abstract: Hepatic metastases in UPC patients portend a generally poor prognosis. However, subsets of patients with more favorable outcomes can be identified by available clinical and pathologic data. Chemotherapy may be beneficial for the large subset of UPC patients with adenocarcinoma that involves the liver.

“…[4] Hepatik metastazlı olan PBMT'lerin prognozu kötü seyretmekle beraber, uygun klinik ve patolojik verilerle tanı konan bazı alt tipler daha iyi prognoz göster-mektedir. [5] Primeri bilinmeyen karaci¤er metastazlı olguların %60'ında adenokarsinom saptanır-ken ikinci sıklıkta (%10-15) tedaviye daha iyi yanıt veren ve daha uzun yaam süresine sahip olabilen nöroendokrin hücre kökenli tümörler görülür. [3] Bu nedenle hastalarda histopatolojik alt tipi belirlemek önemlidir.…”
