Resumo: A complexidade dos projetos tem aumentado, impulsionando a demanda, no gerenciamento moderno de projetos, por novos conhecimentos, ferramentas, técnicas e modelos de trabalho. No entanto, a comunidade Palavras-chave: Projetos complexos; Teoria da Complexidade; Teoria da Representação Social; Evocação de palavras.Abstract: The complexity of the projects has increased, boosting the demand in modern project management for new knowledge, tools, techniques and work models. However, the scientific community still seeks a definition for the complex project construct and the factors that characterize it. Therefore, the objective of this qualitative and descriptive study was to identify the factors that characterize the complexity in the vision of engineering project management professionals and from that, to propose a definition for a complex project. This characterization was based on the perception of 132 respondents, captured through the word evocation technique; treated and analyzed by the Vèrges technique with the support of Social Representation Theory and Complexity Theory. As a result, the central nucleus of the social representation that characterizes a complex project in the view of the professionals of the engineering area was constituted in descending order by: stakeholders, difficulty, risks, technology, large, scope, multidisciplinary and long. It is observed that complex projects are seen as a superlative system, in terms of quantity and quality of constituents, and stakeholders management gains protagonism.

Objetivo: Analisar os fatores críticos que influenciam o sucesso do gerenciamento ágil de projetos. Originalidade/Relevância: O resultado foi a obtenção de um modelo de pesquisa com indícios de qualidade técnica, oriundo da fusão de itens observáveis consagrados na literatura, com a lógica de seus agrupamentos determinada pela afinidade dos dados empíricos. Metodologia: Foi realizada uma coleta de dados com questionários eletrônicos do tipo survey. Foram aplicadas técnicas de Análise Fatorial Exploratória, Confirmatória e de Modelagem de Equações Estruturais. A análise contemplou 475 projetos gerenciados com várias abordagens ágeis, desenvolvendo produtos de software, não-software e serviços, em organizações de diferentes portes, setores e atividades. Resultados: Foi verificado que fatores inerentes às características do projeto e do ambiente organizacional são mais críticos. Os fatores “Dedicação dos Participantes”, “Experiência dos Participantes” e “Projeto e Ambiente Organizacional” estão associados positivamente ao Sucesso dos Projetos Ágeis. Conclusão: Foi possível perceber indícios de que o fator humano é crítico para se alcançar o nível de desempenho desejado pelas organizações.

The term Big Data is being used widely by companies and researchers who consider your relevant functionalities or applications to create value and business innovation. However, some questions arise about what is this phenomenon and, more precisely, how it occurs and under what conditions it can create value and innovation in business. In our view, the lack of depth related to the principles involved in Big Data and the very absence of a conceptual definition, made it difficult to answer these questions that have been the basis for our research. To answer these questions we did a bibliometric study and extensive literature review. The bibliometric studies were realized based in articles and citation of Web of Knowledge database. The main result of our research is the providing a conceptual definition for the term Big Data. Also, we propose which principles discovered can contribute with other researches that intend value creation by Big Data. Finally we propose see the value creation through Big Data using the Resource Based View as the main theory used for discuss that theme.
