Uncommon associations in target resistance among French populations of Myzus persicae from oilseed rape crops

“…Functional expression studies in oocytes have demonstrated that T929I in combination with L1014F makes insect sodium channels highly insensitive to both type I and type II pyrethroids and also to DDT [27], [28]. To date, the L932F mutation has only been identified in human head lice, where it is frequently associated with the T929I mutation, and the peach potato aphid Myzus persicae where it was associated with L1014F [24], [29]. Heterologous expression of the L932F mutation in oocytes has shown it also reduces channel sensitivity to permethrin [30].…”

However, a few other mutations have been reported (F979S and L932F), but their possible involvement in resistance is only partially or not at all characterised . Until now, M918T has always been found in combination with L1014F, leading to high levels of pyrethroid resistance.…”
