Abstract: (Spix, 1823). This species is characterized by cephalic vesicle striate, thick egg shell punctate, spicules equal, symmetrical development of spicule wings, particular arrangement and number the ridges of synlophe, and lack of esophageal tooth. Cheiropteronema striatum sp. nov. is the second species described for the genus and the first recorded in frugivorous bats of Argentina. KEYWORDS.Frugivorous bats, nematode parasites, Neotropical. “…The trematodes and cestodes were stained in Semichon's acetic carmine and mounted in Canada balsam. In the identification of the nematodes alcohol-phenol was used to clarify the cuticle and observe in detail the copulatory structures of males and other important structures in both sexes (Oviedo et al, 2010).…”

“…Studies on chiropteran endoparasites are limited around the world, which means that the diversity of bat's parasites is probably underestimated ( Lord et al, 2012 , Portes Santos and Gibson, 2015 ). Most of the studies in Argentina come from the Central and Northeast regions of the country, where 17 species of nematodes, 12 of trematodes, and four of cestodes have been reported ( Boero and Delpietro, 1970 , Lunaschi, 2002a , Lunaschi, 2002b , Lunaschi, 2004 , Lunaschi, 2006 , Lunaschi et al, 2003 , Drago et al, 2007 , Lunaschi and Drago, 2007 , Ramallo et al, 2007 , Lunaschi and Notarnicola, 2010 , Oviedo et al, 2009 , Oviedo et al, 2010 , Oviedo et al, 2012 , Oviedo et al, 2016 , Fugassa, 2015 , Portes Santos and Gibson, 2015 , Milano, 2016 ) ( Table 1 ). There is only one parasitological study of bats from Argentinean Patagonia, describing the trichostrongylid nematode, Allintoshius baudi , from Myotis aelleni collected in El Hoyo de Epuyén, Chubut province ( Vaucher and Durette-Desset, 1980 ).…”

“…En la Región Neotropical se registran diversos estudios referidos a tricostrongílidos de murciélagos, destacándose Brasil como el país en que se llevaron a cabo numerosas investigaciones (Freitas Texeira y Mendonca, 1963;Vicente et al, 1997;Nogueira et al, 2004). En Argentina los trabajos son escasos (Oviedo et al, 2010).…”
