“Umbrella” Structure Trisiloxane Surfactant: Synthesis and Application for Reverse Flotation of Phosphorite Ore in Phosphate Fertilizer Production

Abstract: Phosphorite is generally used in the manufacture of phosphate fertilizer and plays a vital role in the development of agricultural and food production. Nonetheless, how to obtain phosphorite concentrates efficiently and sustainably has become an urgent problem. In this study, a newly designed trisiloxane surfactant, N-(2-Aminoethyl)-3-aminopropyltrisiloxane (AATS), has been prepared and utilized as an emerging collector for reverse flotation of phosphorite ore. Its collecting ability was compared with the conv… Show more

“…Furthermore, environmental pollution and energy shortages are becoming exacerbated (Cheng C. et al, 2020 ; Chuanchang et al, 2020 ; Huang et al, 2020a ; Yang et al, 2020 ). Therefore, new energy development technologies have received widespread attention (Huang et al, 2020b ; Wang D. et al, 2020 ; Liu et al, 2021 ; Nie et al, 2021 ). However, new resources, such as solar and tidal energies, cannot provide a continuous source of energy.…”

“…Lower surface tension of medicines such as nasal drops, ophthalmic medicines help them spread on the target surface, crossing mucous -layer that normally exists over these surfaces (27) . Using the surfactants along with fertilizers is in practice to reduce the ST of water (4) .…”

“…The lower ST also increases the CO 2 vapour concentration in water in plants (3) . The fact that lower ST improves the absorption of nutrients by plants has led to the use of surfactants from the middle of the 20th century (4) . The water's surface tension may also be reduced by mechanical methods like misting, used in fog-ponics to improve the irrigation efficiency (5) .…”

“…With the development of industrial processes, energy consumption is increasing day by day. However, energy consumption brings environmental pollution [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ]. In order to solve this problem and achieve “carbon neutrality”, humankind began to explore renewable energy [ 5 , 6 , 7 , 8 , 9 ].…”
