Ultrasound promoted synthesis of substituted pyrazoles and isoxazoles containing sulphone moiety

Abstract: Novel pyrazoles and isoxazoles were synthesized from the reaction of the carbanions of 1-aryl-2-(phenylsulphonyl)-ethanone with different hydrazonyl halides and 1-aryl-2-bromo-2-hydroximinoethanone in ethanol, respectively. Reactions were carried out under silent and ultrasonic conditions. In general, it was found that ultrasound irradiations enable some reactions to occur which could not be carried out under silent condition in addition to improvement in reaction times. The products were obtained in high yiel… Show more

“…Motivated by the aforementioned findings, and in a continuation of our interest in the synthesis of a wide range of heterocyclic systems, for biological screening in our laboratory utilizing green chemistry tools . We report here the reaction of E ‐3‐(dimethylamino)1‐(4‐(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)prop‐2‐en‐1‐one (1) with a series of different nitrogen‐based nucleophiles under solvent free mechanochemical condition utilizing nanosized magnesium oxide catalyst.…”

“…Ultrasonicassisted organic synthesis (UAOS) is a green synthetic approach and it is a powerful technique to support an increase in reaction rate [19][20][21]. It can also be considered as important tool for conservation of energy and minimization of waste as compared to the conventional techniques [22,23]. This research work is introducing ultrasound-promoted synthesis of thiazolinedin-4-one derivative from the readily available starting materials under mild and selective conditions.…”

“…Ultrasound irradiation has long been considered as a clean and useful method for the activation and acceleration of processes in organic synthesis and has been routinely used during the last three decades (Li et al, 2003;Peters, 1996;Shchukin and Mo¨hwald, 2006). A large number of organic reactions can be carried out employing ultrasonic irradiation resulting in higher yield, shorter reaction time or milder conditions Luche, 1998;Mahdavinia et al, 2009;Mamaghani and Dastmard, 2009;Mason and Peters, 2002;Mehrabi, 2008;Pizzuti et al, 2009;Saleh and EL-Rahman, 2009). …”
