Ultrasonographic evidence of association of polyps and stones with gallbladder cancer

Abstract

These results suggest an association between gallstone or polyp of the gallbladder and increased risk of malignancy, implying that an etiological association may also exist.

Is it necessary to perform prophylactic cholecystectomy for asymptomatic subjects with gallbladder polyps and gallstones?
