Ultrasensitive Detection of Carcinoembryonic Antigen by Chitosan/Polythiophene/CdTe Electrochemical Biosensor

Abstract: A facile method for the in situ fabrication of chitosan/polythiophene/CdTe (CS/PTh/CdTe) nanocomposite has been developed. It was then connected with anti-CEA (Ab), which was evoked for the electrochemical detection of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA, Ag) within K 4 Fe(CN) 6 . The results indicate that CS/PTh/CdTe/GCE has a high selectivity for the detection of CEA with a wide linear range of 0.0001−10000 ng/mL and excellent sensitivity with a low detection limit of 40 fg/ mL. Cyclic voltammetry (CV), electroche… Show more

“…The interaction of [Fe(CN) 6 ] 4-/3species with PTh, i.e., an n-type conducting polymer increases the effective resistance/impedance of PTh due to electrostatic repulsions. 27 MIP, owing to the presence of imprints or cavities, provides a more diffusible surface for [Fe(CN) 6 ] 4-/3species, thereby enhancing the interactions of [Fe(CN) 6 ] 4-/3ions on the surface and within the polymer imprints and significantly increasing the impedance as compared to NIP. Thus, EIS also validates the mechanism of interaction of MIP and NIP receptors with the standard redox solution with MIP showing greater diffusion-based interactions compared to NIP, which is attributed to the presence of imprints or cavities.…”

“…For example, Wang et al Jozghorbani et al and Wang et al designed three kinds of label-free CEA immunosensors with detection limits of 0.005, 0.05, and 0.0429 ng•mL −1 , respectively [7][8][9]. Especially, a large number of reports have focused on the sandwich-type electrochemical immunosensor for CEA detection [10][11][12][13], thanks to their distinct advantages such as lower background noise, higher sensitivity, and importance, and they have higher selectivity for analytes through two specifc reactions, which are superior to label-free counterparts [14][15][16].…”
