Ultra‐miniaturized tunable slot‐based antenna design for 5G IoT applications

Abstract: This paper demonstrates a compact‐size folded slot‐based antenna suitable for internet‐of‐things (IoT) applications. The antenna is composed of a folded structure meandered slot loaded with varactor diode. The novel combination of the slot and varactor diode, reactively loading the slot, lead to highly miniaturized antenna. The presented antenna operates in dual frequency bands: from 730 to 965 MHz and 1250 to 1940 MHz.
