Ausbeute: 0,74 g 2,3-Dihydro-4,5-propylen-hexahydro-benzo-1,4-oxazin (= 81 94 d. Th.). “…Few cases of failure (177), except for certain acetonitriles substituted with a nitro group or two or more halogen atoms (306), have been noted in the synthesis of imidates from simple and substituted aliphatic nitriles (48,55,95,222,252,326), and the preparation of imidates from palmito- (96), stearo-, and lauronitriles (105) has been recorded. The method has been extended to give -hydroxyimidate hydrohalides from simple aldehyde and ketone cyanohydrins (23,182,227,261,285), and ethyl mandelimidate hydrochloride is now available commercially.…”

“…After filtration and washing with more anhydrous solvent, the imidate hydrohalide is best stored in vacuo over concentrated sulfuric acid or solid sodium hydroxide, which remove any excess hydrogen halide and also maintain anhydrous conditions. Hydrogen chloride has been employed in almost every instance of imidate formation by this method, but the use of hydrogen bromide has also been reported (182,304). Moreover, adiponitrile and ethanol in sulfuric acid at 70°C.…”

“…(chloromethyl)-2-imidazoline is produced. The latter compound is a valuable intermediate in the synthesis of antihistamine agents(26,69).5. Miscellaneous reactions 2-Imidazolines possessing antihistamine activity have been prepared by the alkylation of phenols with 2-(chloromethyl)-2-imidazoline(30,31,37).…”

“…Synthesis of Z derivatives 3 as a mixture of diastereoisomers Z-(3R) and Z-(3S) was attempted (Scheme I) by reducing the phenyl ring of the aromatic analogues 2 catalytically over Rh/Al203.5 Hydrogenation of 2 occurred in good yield at low pressure, without any of the cleavage at the benzylic position which is known to occur with other platinum metal catalysts. 6 Treatment of 3a,b with methanolic KOH gave, respectively, 4 and the lactone 5, which was in turn opened to 6 by alkaline hydrolysis with aqueous NaOH.…”
