In seiner Arbeit "Phyllotaxis ... " (1951) finder RICItARDS auf dem Wege mathematischer Ableitung bei Spira]stellungen nach dem Fibonaeci-Prinzip einen engen Zusammenhang zwisehen der Gesamtzahl jener Parastichen, die sieh rechtwinklig schneiden, nnd den radia]en Abstandsverhi~ltnissen entwicklungsgeschichtlich aufeinandarfolgender Organe yon der Seheita]aehse, einem Quotienten, dan er "plastoehrone ratio" (r) nennt. Diesem Zusammenhang hat er in einem Diagramm (1951, Fig. 6) Ausdruek verliehen, in welchem jedem der varschiedenen Ortsmnster ein Punkt zukommt, dessen Abszisse durch die Summe der (orthogonalen) Parastiehen, dessert Ordinate dureh das zugehSrige Plastochron-Verh~ltnis festgelegt ist. Man sollte naeh dieser Art der graphisehen Darstellnng wie aueh naeh dem Text dar Legende hiezu ("Relation between phyllotaxis index and the logarithm of the sum of the numbers of parastichies in a wide variety of orthogonal phyllotaxis systems.") annehmen, dab fiir jeden Punkt des Diagramms die mathematisehe Beziehung zwischen Ordinate nnd Abszisse dieselbe ist. Dies ist jedoch nicht der Fall, wovon man sieh am einfachsten dutch Naehkonstruktion der betreffenden Stellungsmuster iiberzeugen kann. Sic gelingt ni~mlich nur ffir alle einfachen Spiralstellungen (1 Organ je Plastochron), nicht abet bai den multijugaten Spiralstellungen und den Stellungen arts alternierenden Wirteln. Aueh I~ICHARDS' Abbfldung eines bijugaten (4d-6)-Systems in der diesbeziig]ichen Kritik ist nicht mit dem r-Wert seines eigenen Diagramms (1951, Fig 6) konstruiert, sondarn mit dem meiner Abb. 11 (AO/B0 = BO/CO = 1,27, nicht 1,13). Ebenso unmSglich ist die Nachkonstruktion mit seinen Werten ftir Wirtelsysteme. Als Beweis seien in Abb. 1 zwei Scheitelmuster 5-gliedriger alternierender Wirtel Wiedergegeben, yon denen nnr das linke (mit dem r-Wert meines Diagramms), nicht aber das rechte (mit dam r-Wert aus Fig. 6 nach I~ICHARDS) orthogonalen Schnitt der Parastichen ergibt. * Erwiderung zu der Arbeit yon F.
