ST~LZER und SIMON Jahrg. 94 4.5-Dimethyl-5-mercnpto-caprorrsaure ( I X ) : 2 g des tertiarenThiol-lactons X werden mit 30 ccm 5 n HCI unter Erwarmung geschiittelt und 24 Stdn. stehengelassen. Dann wird ausgeathert und getrocknet. Ausb. an Rohprodukt: 90%. Bei der Destillation erfolgt wieder Ring-schlu0, und es wird ein Vorlauf an Thiol-lacton X erhalten. Die Mercaptosaure destilliert beim Sdp.10 145". IR-Spektrum: VC=O = 1710/cm. CaHl6OzS (176.2) Ber. s 18.16 Gef. s 18.24 Alkalische Spaltung 4.5-Dimethyl-4-mercnpto-cnpronsaure (XI): 15 g XI1 werden in 50 ccm Methanol gelost und I6 g NaOH in 500 ccm Wasser zugegeben. Es wird eine I/z Stde. geschiittelt, mit Schwefelsaure angesauert und das ausgeschiedene 0 1 ausgdthert. Beim Abdampfen des Athers kristallisiert die Mercaptosaure aus. Aus Petrolather schone rhombische Kristalle vom Schmp. 51'. Die Substanz IaDt sich beim Erhitzen wieder in XI1 iiberfiihren. Ausb. 87 %, d.Th. UV-Absorption: hmax = 210 mp (log E = 3.02). 1R-Spektrum: VC=O = 1710/cm. CaH1602S (176.2) Ber. C 54.53 H 9.15 S 18.16 Gef. C 54.47 H 9.14 S 18.31 y-Mercupro-burtersaure: 6 g y-Thiol-butyroluctorr werden in 10 ccm Methanol gelast und 20 ccm 1 n NaOH zugegeben. Nach 2 stdg. Stehenlassen wird mit verd. Schwefelsaure angesauert und die y-Mercapto-buttersaure ausgeathert. Die jodometrische Bestimmung des Rohproduktes ergibt 98 % Mercapto-Verbindung. Die Destillation liefert unter Wasserabspaltung einen Vorlauf von y-Thiol-butyrolacton, das im UV-Spektrum nachgewiesen wurde. Die Mercaptosaure destilliert beim Sdp.13 140". 1R-Spektrum: VC=O = 1710/cm. C4Ha02S (120.1) Ber. S 26.64 Gef. S 26.55
