Type Testing of Model 7200 Automatic TLD Reader

Abstract: The type testing of measuring devices is one of the most important parts of a quality management system in a personal dosimetry services program. In this study, based upon the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 62387 criteria, a reader-testing program was performed for a home-made personal thermoluminescent dosimetry (TLD) reader. The stability of the reader, the effects of light exposure, temperature and fluctuations of primary power supply on TLD read-outs as the main parameters were investigate… Show more

“…D2 had less pronounced overresponse during the non-linearity test compared to the findings for D1. Considering the dose range from 0.3 mSv up to 1 Sv, results are mostly in line with results presented by Mohammadi and Pooya (2017). It should be noted that a detailed comparison with this study cannot be made as information regarding the holder used in this study is not given.…”

“…In another study, a dosimetry system comprised of the Model 7200 Automatic TLD Reader (RSD Co., Tehran, Iran) and the TLD-100 (LiF:Mg,Ti) dosimeters (Thermo Fisher Scientific) was examined for non-linearity of the response, overload, post-irradiation effects, and reusability (radiation characteristics); reader stability and power supply (electromagnetic characteristics); and light exposure and ambient temperature (environmental characteristics) (Mohammadi and Pooya 2017). Similar research of TL dosimetry systems’ properties included type testing of LiF based TLD (Radcard, Kraków, Poland) read on a RADOS RE2000 reader (Mirion Technology, Inc., Atlanta, GA) and Manual Reader-Analyzer TL RA’94 (MICROLAB, Warsaw, Poland) (Obryk et al 2008, 2011).…”
