Two-point nonuniformity correction based on LMS

Abstract: In real-time system, the Infrared Focal Plane Array (IRFPA) should be compensated in traditional method of two-point temperature non-uniformity correction (NUC) before system was used every time, which make the system complex. Based on discussion of traditional two-point temperature NUC algorithm, Two-point temperature NUC based on least mean square(LMS)algorithm was proposed in the paper. In the view of the LMS algorithm theory, the correction gain and offset coefficients were iterated one by one during image… Show more

“…Calibration-based methods have the characteristics of simple calculation and high correction accuracy, and are widely used in engineering applications. The most commonly used method is the two-point calibration method [ 4 , 5 ]. The corresponding photoelectric curves of CIS show a certain degree of non-linearity.…”

“…6 If an overall systematic response model is the goal, the NUC methods are often associated with calibration, adaptive filtering or other methods for estimating system response parameters. 8–30 Imaging system response nonuniformity models and methods for representation are essential for NUC and nonuniformity evaluation (NUE), and research on these topics is the basis of system response NUC and NUE. However, some parameters drift over time; hence, the representation of imaging system response nonuniformity is difficult.…”

“…There are two kinds of non-uniformity correction (NUC) methods for imaging systems. One is calibration-based method 115 and the other is scene-based NUC method. 1644 The NUC model is the most important factor in both methods.…”
