Tuning the Supramolecular Structure through Variation of the Ligand Geometry and Metal Substituents–Diorganotin Macrocycles and Coordination Polymers Derived from cis- and trans-1,2-, 1,3-, and 1,4-Cyclohexanedicarboxylic and cis,cis-1,3,5-Cyclohexanetricarboxylic Acid

Abstract: cis-and trans-1,2-chdcaH 2 , 1,3-chdcaH 2 , and 1,4-chdcaH 2 (chdcaH 2 = cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid) as well as cis,cis-1,3,5-chtcaH 3 (chtcaH 3 = cyclohexanetricarboxylic acid) have been treated with dimethyl-and di-n-butyltin reagents, and for the case of 1,4-chdcaH 2 additionally with ditert-butyltin dichloride, to determine whether macrocyclic or polymeric diorganotin dicarboxylates are formed dependent of the spatial orientation of the coordinating ligand functions and the organic substituents at the me… Show more

“…The observation that the organic substituents at the tin atoms have a strong influence on the self-assembly product of tectons based on organotin compounds is supported also by reports on other tin-ligand systems. [14,19,21,30,49,76,77] 1D polymeric structures similar to 1-3 were observed previously in related systems, [19,21,[78][79][80] but there are also reports on macrocyclic assemblies. [81] 3. oxygen atoms from two ligands, giving C 3 SnO 3 coordination environments as in compounds 1-3 ( Figures S47, S51, S52, and S53).…”

“…[47,48] Moreover, the steric and electronic properties of the tin atoms are easily modified by variation of the organic substituents. [18][19][20][21][28][29][30]49] To explore the influence of the Sn-R groups on self-assembly products, the organotin fragments employed typically carry methyl, n-butyl, or phenyl groups.…”

“…The design and synthesis of supramolecular polymeric networks, especially those constructed by hydrogen bonds and intermolecular weak interactions are a eld of rapid growth due to their special physical properties and potential application in functional materials [1][2][3][4][5]. In the assembly of supramolecular polymeric networks, several factors, such as, organic ligands, metal ions, pH, solvents, temperature are the key factors [6][7][8].…”
