Tunability and Optical Properties of Paraelectric BaZr0.30Ti0.70O3Thin Films Grown by a Sol-Gel Process

Abstract: BZT thin films were deposited via a sol-gel process on Pt-coated silicon substrates. The BZT films were in the perovskite phase and had polycrystalline structure. Dielectric constant (ε r ) and the dissipation factor (tanδ) at 10 kHz are 400 and 0.012, respectively. The tunability κ of the dielectric constant (at 400 kV/cm) is about 30% at the room temperature. The optical constants (ε 1 , ε 2 , σ ) of the BZT thin films in the wavelength range of 2.5-12.6 μm were obtained by infrared spectroscopic ellipsometr… Show more

“…Recently, studies on the optical properties of crystalline and non-crystalline BZT thin films or bulk ceramics have been mainly focused on the infrared optical properties [28,29], complex refractive index [30][31][32] and photoluminescence (PL) [33][34][35][36]. In particular, the PL properties have been observed only in BZT thin films and powders prepared by the polymeric precursor method.…”
