“…In the present study, we pro led the structure of esophageal microbiota in ES, ESCC patients and matched control through 16S rRNA gene sequencing and predicted the functional changes. We found a lower microbial diversity in ESCC than in healthy controls, which were supported by previous ndings [12], whereas other studies indicated a decreasing tendency or a higher diversity without signi cant difference [13][14][15].
