“…Five of the trypanorhynchs detected during this study are common for both localities , Palm et al 1994. Considering the records of N. lingualis, N. rougetcampanae, Poecilancistrum caryophyllum and Tentacularia coryphaenae of the South Brazilian coast, 9 trypanorhynchs have been described from both, the Brazilian and the West African coast (Dollfus 1935, BaudinLaurencin 1971, Rego 1977, Pereira et al 1982, São Clemente & Gomes 1989b, 1992, Palm et al 1994.…”

We assume that these hooks are uncinate based on figures 2 and 3 in São Clemente and Gomes (1989a).…”

“…We assume that these hooks are uncinate based on figures 2 and 3 in São Clemente and Gomes (1989a). Also, the uncinate hooks of the basal swelling are not mentioned in the original description, but can be observed in their figures 2 and 3 (São Clemente and Gomes 1989a).…”
