Tris‐Stabilized MoS2 Nanosheets with Robust Dispersibility and Facile Surface Functionalization

Abstract: Here, tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane (i.e., Tris) is reported to be an effective protecting agent to stabilize 2D nanomaterials in water for various enhanced applications. As demonstrated, molybdenum sulfide (MoS2) nanosheets are first exfoliated from MoS2 bulk under a low‐energy sonication in the assistance of protein bovine serum albumin (BSA), and then BSA molecules are replaced with Tris to stabilize the exfoliated MoS2 nanosheets. The Tris‐stabilized MoS2 nanosheets have a robust dispersibility to resist… Show more

“…The MoS 2 -based nanomaterials usually adopt covalent and noncovalent modification strategies for functionalization. One covalent strategy is the sulfur-chemistry-mediated modification. MoS 2 NSs obtained by chemically exfoliation have profound defects and edges, because of the loss of atoms during the intense ultrasonication process.…”

“…PCT could provide higher efficacy for growth inhibition via the synergistic effects from local hyperthermia triggered by light and rapid drug release compared with limitation of local treatment of PTT, which is beneficial for clinic translation. [123,336,337] Synergistic chemotherapy and photothermal therapy can further enhance the cancer therapeutic effect based on 2D materials because of their excellent photothermal properties and large specific surface area. [338][339][340][341] Doxorubicin (DOX) is the most frequently used chemotherapeutic drugs for cancer treatment.…”

“…14 To tackle the compatibility and stability factors, several additional studies were conducted to prepare functionalized MoS 2 nanosheets. 79,[81][82][83] Accordingly, high efficiency polyphenol assisted liquid exfoliation was used as a green method to produce layered MoS 2 nanosheets with tannic acid (TA-MoS 2 ). 83 Due to their improved stability and compatibility, TA-MoS 2 nanosheets were successfully incorporated into the polyamide layer, forming a TFN NF membrane with superior performance.…”
