“…108 Small, single-institution QI interventions designed to meet both ACGME and practice improvement (Part IV) MOC requirements demonstrated universal improvement on targeted process measures reflecting the care delivered by trainees. [109][110][111][112] Other initiatives providing practice improvement (Part IV) MOC credit undertaken by multiple practices or hospitals through local or state QI collaboratives demonstrated improvements in many process measures and some intermediate outcome mea sures (e.g., low-density lipoprotein [LDL] control, A1c control, blood pressure control). [113][114][115][116][117][118][119][120][121][122][123] For pediatrics in particular, other initiatives offering practice improvement (Part IV) MOC credit have incorporated multiple institutions across the country that are engaged in national QI collaboratives and have demonstrated improvements on process measures, intermediate outcome measures, and outcome measures.…”

“…The ABP gives MOC credit to faculty for supervising resident QI projects and an emerging body of literature has identified the value of MOC credit as an incentive to faculty who teach residents how to systematically improve the quality of their patient care. 51,52 In summary, the preponderance of the existing literature supports the association of MOC with improved care and the importance of MOC credit as an incentive (Table 2).…”
