Triboelectricity and construction of power generators based on it

Abstract: The topic of using tribolectrics as a promising source of energy has been actualized in this article. The data on the main types of generators in triboelectricity have been analyzed. The schematic solutions for the application of tribogenerators in various devices based on electronic modules of various manufacturers have been presented. The conclusion about the high efficiency of the use of tribogenerators in applied devices, when combined with other energy sources and accumulating it with super capacitors has… Show more

“…It cannot be assumed that positive charge only in the oil contamination but small amount of negative charge also exists in it. Based on the triboelectric series (Molnar, Gersimov and Kurytnik, 2018), if a material is more likely to be positive side, it can be expected to push electrons from the negative side. By applying this concept, comparison is made between EPDM and oil contamination where movement of electron charge maybe lead to the occurrence of collision and the charge increase at the critical point.…”

“…This motion may be considered as the combination of two broadly known TEG modes, the vertical contact mode and the sliding mode. [2] It was executed thanks to a specially designed and 3D-printed moving pair of arms and holders which allowed the contact and sliding of one textile sample over the other.…”

“…Once the two triboelectric materials are forced into contact, charge flow appears between them, which leads to the development of an electric potential difference. [2] Meanwhile, of big interest is the use of textile materials in building TEGs, thanks to the unique textile properties they can offer like flexibility, [3,4] elasticity, [5] washability, [6][7][8] breathability, [8,9] bacterial resistance, [10] and comfort. [11] Additionally, a textile-based TEG may be an actual part of the body of a clothing item and not an additional piece of equipment.…”
