“…Triazine‐based dendrimers have been extensively studied 11. Several series of dendrimers were first prepared by Simanek and Lim11c and Takagi et al.,11b by using the triazine moiety as a linkage. Interestingly, the triazine unit in the dendritic framework has been observed to show strong π–π interaction with tetrafluorobenzoquinone in solution,12 that is, the dendritic triazine moiety prefers face‐to‐face π–π interaction in solid stacking, which in turn will favor formation of the columnar LC phase during the thermal process.…”

“…The convergent synthetic route to the conjugated dendron and dendrimers with triazine periphery and chromophore core is described in Scheme . The selective reactivity of cyanuryl chloride toward Grignard reagent of p ‐bromostyrene at 0 °C provides an opportunity to yield monosubstituted triazine 1 , which was then converted to 2 by replacing the remaining two chlorine atoms with 4‐ tert ‐butylphenylboronic acid via Suzuki reaction 37–39. The two‐fold Heck reaction of 2 with 3,5‐dibromobenzaldehyde produced first generation of the conjugated dendron Trz‐1GD‐CHO.…”

“…HBP is compared with a dendrimer, whose synthesis is time-consuming and technically complicated. The HBPs consisting of triazine units have been recently reported, in which tedious synthetic pathways and the poor yield of the final polymers are the issue to be solved [6][7][8]. Linear polymers have also been reported using dichloro-triazine molecule, which have good heat resistance and high transparency.…”
