“…This solid-liquid behavior sets most of the applicability of different fats and oils and several studies have been done to model the solid-liquid equilibrium in triacylglycerol systems. The solid-liquid equilibrium of fats and oils is complex and imposes several challenges to describe the multiple solid phases that can be formed (Hjorth et al, 2014;Maximo et al, 2014). Thermodynamic approaches for multicomponent mixtures can be found in the works of Won (1993), Wesdorp et al (2005) and Hjorth et al (2014).…”

“…The others systems of this set of data exhibit a temperature transition slightly above the eutectic one that may be related to the polymorphic transitions commonly found in fatty system. [39,40] The binary mixture equilibrium data of ethyl caprate, ethyl laurate and ethyl myristate with ethyl linoleate are presented in Table 6. Besides the predictive UNIQUAQ model it was also considered the ideal approach to both pure solid and liquid phases.…”

“…These latter are promising PCM candidates. Indeed, not only do they represent more than 75% of PCMs derived from wastes or by-products of plant or animal oils, but they also have advantageous thermal properties and energy densities for a limited cost [10]. Therefore, the applicability of FA as low-cost biosourced PCMs is studied in the perspective of limiting CO 2 emissions and favoring renewable energy sources.…”
