Abstract:The current study aims at reviewing digital archives and preservation research trends from diverse disciplines in order to shed light on what have been accomplished so far as well as what should be done to make progress. A total of 115 research articles have been selected from 2 journals of archival science and 28 journals of library and information science, computer science, and others. Selected articles are categorized into four subject areas. For each subject area, research trends are reviewed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
