Abstract: Category: Midfoot/Forefoot; Other Introduction/Purpose: Hallux Rigidus (HR) can cause pain with motion, enlarged joint, decreased joint space, subchondral sclerosis, osteophyte formation and restricted joint mobility, limiting patient physical activity. A modern technique for the treatment of HR is 1st MTP hemiarthroplasty with the use of a Cartiva synthetic cartilage implant.
