Abstract

Bu araştırma, Travelbee Kuramı'na göre verilen iletişim eğitiminin ebelerin kişilerarası iletişim becerilerine ve annelerin doğum memnuniyetine etkisini incelemek amacıyla yapılmış, yarı deneysel tipte bir çalışmadır. Travelbee Kuramı'na göre yapılandırılmış kişilerarası iletişim eğitiminden önce ve eğitimden sonra hem ebelerin (n=17) iletişim becerileri hem de annelerin (n=220) doğum memnuniyetleri incelenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda, ebelerin eğitim öncesi ve sonrası Empati Beceri Ölçeği puan ortalaması ile İletişim Beceri Davranışlarının gözlem puanları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık olduğu (p<0.05). Empati Eğilim Ölçeği puanı ile iletişim Becerileri Değerlendirme Ölçeği puan ortalamaları arasında fark olmadığı (p>0.05) bulunmuştur. Ebelerin iletişim eğitiminden önce ve sonra, normal doğum yapan kadınların Normal Doğumda Anne Memnuniyet Ölçek puan ortalamaları arasında istatistiksel anlamda fark bulunmuştur (p<0.05). Travelbee Kuramı'na göre ebelere verilen iletişim eğitimi, ebelerin empati ve iletişim becerilerini geliştirmiş; doğumda bakım verdikleri kadınların memnuniyeti artmıştır.
