Trap-Induced Dense Monocharged Perfluorinated Electret Nanofibers for Recyclable Multifunctional Healthcare Mask

Abstract: Recently, wearable and breathable healthcare devices for air filtering and real-time vital signs monitoring have become urgently needed since virus and particulate matter (PM) cause serious health issues. Herein, we present a trap-induced dense monocharged hybrid perfluorinated electret nanofibrous membrane (HPFM) for highly efficient ultrafine PM0.3 removal with an efficiency of 99.712% under low pressure drop (38.1 Pa) and high quality factor of 0.154 Pa–1. Furthermore, a recyclable multifunctional healthcar… Show more

“…There are variations in the electrical properties between the two regions, so the transmission of electric charge demands extra electric energy, which in turn allows the space between two regions to detain more electric charges. Therefore, this area is called a trap, and more traps can better preserve more electric charges [ 26 , 27 ]. To sum up, the incorporation of low molecular triclosan does not attenuate the surface voltage and surface potential, namely the antibacterial agent (i.e., triclosan) does not exert negative effects over the electret filters.…”

“…The membrane was attached on a reusable N95 mask which could filter microbes upto the size of 5 nm [59] . Thus, various nanomaterial combinations can be integrated with the textile fibers by drawing them into nanofibers or by coating methods, so that optimum activity can be obtained [60] , [61] , [62] , [63] .…”

“…Read Full License Introduction Dielectric polymers of superb energy and charge storage properties are widely applied in power equipment, [1][2][3][4] electronic devices 5,6 and environmental/medical ltration. [7][8][9] For example, in electrical industry, polymer based power capacitors are of massive applications in large-scale electricity storage and power converters in pulse power systems as well as electric vehicles. [10][11][12] In eld of organic electronics, charges in polymeric electret provide built-in electrostatic elds in optimizing the performance of organic eld-effect transistors (OFETs), 13,14 which is also regarded as the basis of nonvolatile ash memories.…”
