“…31 In the past, we have used mixtures of lactic acid and triethylamine in alcoholic solvents for the effective dissolution of transition metal (Cu and Cd) compounds and ionic salts (SnCl 2 ) at room or mild temperatures. 32,33 Therefore, the mixture of additives has been helpful for dissolution of different precursor metal compounds and the corresponding synthesis of metal oxides.…”

“…In recent years, many techniques have been adopted for the synthesis of Cd 2 SnO 4 materials, such as sputtering, spray pyrolysis, the sol-gel method, co-precipitation, the thermal combustion method, and the hydrothermal method. [8][9][10] Although the basic transport mechanisms of the carriers in the CTO films and some of the physical properties of the films have been investigated for more than 3 decades, till now, there has not yet been a clear conclusion about the carrier mobility in CTO and only a limited number of first-principles calculations based theoretical studies have been reported. Ion doping is a method to improve the optical absorption characteristics of materials by introducing different impurity ions, controlling the micro crystal structure, and changing the band structure.…”

“…5 The charge carrier concentration of 5 × 10 18 cm −3 was reported in this work. Later CTO thin films were deposited using: spray pyrolysis, 6,7 magnetron sputtering, [8][9][10] pulsed laser deposition, 11,12 sol-gel method, [13][14][15][16] chemical bath deposition. 17 These methods differ by their complexity and equipment necessary to produce oxide films.…”

“…One of the lowest resistivity value of 2 × 10 −3 cm and a bandgap energy value of 3.52 eV was observed for CTO crystal films annealed in vacuum. 14 Because of their optical and electrical characteristics, CTO films are good candidates as transparent conductive electrodes in CdS/CdTe and CdS/CIGS type solar cells. Therefore CTO films may find applications in photovoltaic cells 8,9,14,21,22 liquid crystal displays 23 and heat mirrors.…”
