Transducin (β)-like 1 X-linked receptor 1 promotes gastric cancer progression via the ERK1/2 pathway

Abstract: Gastric cancer (GC) is one of the most common types of cancer worldwide, and it involves extensive local tumour invasion, metastasis and poor prognosis. Understanding the mechanisms regulating the progression of GC is necessary for the development of effective therapeutic strategies. Transducin (β)-like 1 X-linked receptor 1 (TBL1XR1) is an important regulator controlling gene activation and repression, which has been thought to be involved in tumorigenesis. However, the role of TBL1XR1 in human GC remains lar… Show more

“…The expression567, subcellular localization8, and post-translational modifications910 of TBL1XR1 were all reported to be involved in malignancy development. As for the digestive cancers, TBL1XR1 overexpression was reported to be correlated with the poor prognosis of gastric cancer recently1112. The clinical significance of TBL1XR1, especially its role in predicting disease recurrence in CRC hasn’t been systematically reported, although its cellular functions were partly revealed in SW480 cell line13.…”

“…In prostate cancer, TBL1XR1 was reported to function as a tumor suppressor and inhibit tumor growth, perhaps through regulating androgen receptor (AR) signaling pathway (Daniels et al 2014. However, TBL1XR1 has been reported to be highly expressed in cervical cancer , breast cancer , nasopharyngeal carcinoma , hepatocellular carcinoma (Kuang et al 2016), digestive cancers (Liu et al 2016a;Zhou et al 2016;Liu et al 2017), and ovarian cancer . However, the significance of TBL1XR1 in predicting clinical outcomes of EOC patients has not been reported.…”
