Transdisciplinary Methodological Option for Initial Research Process: Training of Researchers

Abstract: methodological option that could be applied in the training of transdisciplinary researchers is presented, fulfilling the characteristic features of the perspective transdisciplinary. The proposed contemplates four phases: 1). Contextual, documentary and field research, 2). Self-research, 3). Experimental research and 4). Research of impacts. The literature indicates that transdisciplinary research address real-world problems, contextualized, focused on space and place and evidenced scientifically, knowing gen… Show more

“…non-disciplinary knowledge) to an expert/academic/disciplinary FNS improvement strategy. Although there are other characteristic features that should be considered, such as the self-investigation of the stakeholders or some of them, in such a way that the union for a solution to the problem is achieved, mutual learning, etc [144,145]. Of this manner, knowledge of academics and stakeholders is shared between each other at all research stages, generating innovative solutions for real-world problems [141][142][143][144][145].…”

“…Only one of the methodologies (Hernández, 2018) [177], addresses a phase to develop the self-investigation of the subjects who investigate that is necessary to carry out the research process and can serve to maintain integration and close collaboration. In addition to develop, among other dimensions, the spiritual one that is decisive in a research process of this type and finally achieve self-transformation as one progresses along the path of research, becoming more aware of oneself, the others and the other.…”

“…Given that the number of disciplines has grown from seven (in the 13th century) to nearly 8000 (in 2012), there is a need to leverage TD engineering techniques for developing complete solutions to complex problems in the modern world [8]. Numerous examples of TD engineering can be found in the literature [9][10][11][12][13][14].…”
