The latest guidelines recommend early identification of children with motor impairments using a standardized norm-referenced test. Motor coordination difficulties in developmental age have been studied extensively over recent years, with experimental literature on developmental coordination disorder (DCD) suggesting that motor proficiency assessments depend on the nature of the task at hand. In this article we reviewed 14 assessment tools to measure movement performance in childhood and adolescence, which are often referred to in an international context. This updated review aims to compare motor tests depending on a) the nature of the tasks included in the battery (i.e., questionnaire and clinical examination), b) psychometric properties, and c) cultural adaptation to relevant developmental norms. Finally, implications for diagnosis and clinical practice are discussed. Considering there are several tests used for DCD, it is important to better define their reliability and validity in different cultures in order to better compare the validation studies and select the most appropriate test to use in the assessment procedure.

Conflitos de interesse: nada a declarar. ResumoObjetivo: Traduzir e adaptar transculturalmente, para uso no Brasil, a Parental Perception on Antibiotics Scale (PAPA Scale) e avaliar a confiabilidade da versão em português.Métodos: Estudo metodológico para tradução e adaptação transcultural da PAPA Scale, desenvolvido em seis etapas, que abrangem tradução inicial, síntese da tradução, tradução de volta a língua original (backtranslation), revisão por um comitê de sete especialistas, aplicação de um pré-teste da versão final com 73 pais/responsáveis e envio para aprovação da autora do instrumento original, conforme recomendações de Beaton. Além da confiabilidade, por meio do Alfa de Cronbach, considerando adequado > 0,7.Resultados: A versão traduzida e adaptada da PAPA Scale foi modificada conforme as sugestões dos especialistas para melhor compreensão da população alvo. A realização do pré-teste demonstrou que se trata de um instrumento de fácil aplicação e compreensão. A consistência interna (Alfa de Cronbach) da escala com 36 itens foi de 0,86.Conclusão: O processo de tradução e adaptação transcultural da PAPA Scale resultou no primeiro instrumento para avaliação da percepção dos pais e/ou responsáveis em relação ao uso de antibióticos em domicílio, por suas crianças, no contexto brasileiro.

Objective: To cross-culturally adapt and validate the INICIARE instrument for use in Brazil. Method: methodological study divided into two phases: cross-cultural adaptation and validation. The first phase took place in six stages: translation, synthesis, back-translation, expert review, pre-test and submission to the author. The second, carried out with 130 patients, took place at a private hospital in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, between May and July 2019. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee. Data were analyzed for stability, equivalence and internal consistency. Results: In the cross-cultural adaptation, the expert committee adjusted the translated version, validating the content. At validation, most patients were women (64.6%) with a mean age of 59 ± 15.3. The reliability index was 0.744. Conclusion: The version of the instrument adapted for Brazil proved to be adequate and reflects the reality of daily nursing practice.
